Nikki Mortham grew up in Granite Bay, CA. She has been painting for 15 years and attributes much of her passion for art to her high school teacher, Myron Stephens. Nikki went to UC Santa Cruz to pursue her fine arts degree and received her teaching credential at CSU Sacramento. She currently resides in Fairfax, CA and teaches art in Larkspur.
In her free time, Nikki loves traveling and finds inspiration in the people and places she encounters. Her current series of portraits explores relationships and how they grow, change, and end. The series explores both time and its effect on people and how memories feel like little snapshots that become less clear over time. Her hope and intention is to capture the fleeting moment of an expression, a feeling, or an understanding in her subject.
